Sakhee’s Secret - Top Class Sprinter

This afternoon at Newmarket saw some good racing, and a shock for the Jeremy Noseda camp as Sander Camillo was turned over by Scarlet Runner (As expected by myself), I say smugly.

However that is not the race I’m concentrating on, as I noticed a visually impressive performance from Hughie Morrison’s Sakhee’s Secret in the last race on the card. A 0-100 Handicap for three-year-olds, this horse absolutely smashed his class par for this race as did a couple of others but the manner of which he did it (on the bridle basically) brings me to the conclusion that this in fact a Group 1 animal.

I calculated the variance at +2.36 (omitting the first race on the card), which means the ground was quickening the horses times up by +2.36s. Therefore from getting the mile aggregates, and adding the Class Pars for each race, I was able to take off the variance to get my figure.

I calculated Sakhee’s Secret having run to 114.00 off a 0-100 Handicap class par, which beats the par by some 14 lengths’! Aahayson is another to note given he was beaten (albeit incredibly easily) by 5 lengths into second by the winner, awarding him a rating of 109.00 off a 0-100 Handicap class par.

Next up I calculated Sakhee’s Secret to an All-Age Group 1 Class par, and he sailed through the 100 barrier, gaining a rating of 101.05, and if you add on his age allowance he’d of been given a rating of 105.76

This is clearly a very smart horse Hughie Morrison has under his care, and I dare say he had plenty left in the tank after that run. I dare say he’d now be able to stay 7f maybe a mile, but if he’s kept to 6 furlongs then he’ll be a formidable force to live with according to my ratings so far – and he sets the standard!

Sakhee’s Secret 101.05+
Aahayson 96.05
Imprimis Tagula 95.8

All assessed to an all-age Grade 1 par.
