The whole race from our perspective went according to plan, as Finsceal Beo lived up to what our figures told us, and blasted clear into an easy lead just under a furlong from home and nobody was going to catch her. She was eased down considerably in the final 75yds, and is value for around an extra three lengths or more.

In doing so she removed the unbeaten record of the John Oxx trained Arch Swing in the process, who ran a huge race considering our figures told us she shouldn’t be troubling the judge. She’s obviously improved a great deal from her comeback run and there’s a race in her along the line. {mosimage}

Third place went to Simply Perfect who sweated up considerably in the preliminaries. she had to be led round by two handlers to try and get her to calm down. She hasn’t really grown much and there’s the worry that the physical scope is not there for a crack at the Oaks, and judging by the way she travelled here I wouldn’t be too concerned if my money was on anything else for the Fillies Classic at Epsom.

Treat ran a decent enough race in defeat, staying through beaten horses late on to grab fourth, but she’s a massive filly who could struggle on the unique camber at Epsom, and wouldn’t be one for my money. That said she’s a likely type to improve for a greater test of stamina and should pickup some sort of prize this year for connections.
